FZI Research Centre for Information Technology

The FZI Research Centre for Information Technology is an independent, non-profit research institution that conducts applied research in the fields of computer science, engineering and related disciplines. With the aim of translating scientific findings into practical innovations, the FZI works closely with industrial partners, public institutions and academia. 

In the field of senior citizens and geriatric medicine, the FZI is already developing solutions that make life easier for older people and improve their quality of life. These include intelligent assistance systems for everyday life and networked healthcare solutions that enable improved medical care in old age. Together with partners from science, industry and care, practice-orientated concepts are being developed that promote safety, independence and participation in old age. One focus is on age-appropriate human-machine interactions and digital applications that relieve the burden on carers and healthcare professionals.
