St. Gereon Seniorendienste GmbH in Hückelhoven (Heinsberg district) can look back on more than 150 years of history (founded in 1865) and, as a Catholic non-profit organisation in the region with approx. 300 employees and approx. 180 trainees, offers its approx. 600 customers a regional, local, complete range of services from a single source, which includes all relevant elderly care services (inpatient care, outpatient care, assisted living, care advice, day care). St. Gereon Seniorendienste was involved in research into the possible uses of IT and AAL technology in inpatient care as part of the BMBF-funded research project Care Prevention 4.0 and was a partner in the AIDA project (work development in geriatric care through the introduction of a telemedical emergency service). We are also partners in other projects on employer attractiveness, work design and digitalisation. St. Gereon Seniorendienste sees the use of information and communication technology for the benefit of those in need of care and employees as an important future field for its further development as an innovative care organisation. The company would also like to use innovative digital solutions to support target group-related activities and increase the social participation of residents.
